TransferTo, the Global Airtime Remittance Hub and Wataniya Mobile Palestine today announced the launch of Wataniya's International Airtime Transfer service.
According to the Worldbank over 3 million Palestinian live abroad and transferred an estimated US$ 1.3 billion, an average US$ 430 per person, back to the West Bank & Gaza in 2010: this figure is now very likely to grow thanks to the new service provided by both Wataniya Mobile and TransferTo as it allows the transfer of small amounts of value, a segment for which money transfer operators do not provide a suitable and economically viable solution. Low in cost, high in value, international prepaid mobile top-ups are a great gift and the ideal complement to money remittances.
Thanks to TransferTo, prepaid airtime transfers to Wataniya customers are performed in real time, and available through multiple channels: the service can be accessed online, at a retail location or from a phone via SMS or a mobile app.
While initially available online at www.transferto.com Palestinians will also be able to access the Wataniya Mobile International Airtime Transfer service at retail locations through TransferTo POS distribution partners and via their mobile phone thanks to partnerships TransferTo has with major mobile network operators in countries hosting large communities of Palestinian expatriates including Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, France.
Eric Barbier, TransferTo CEO, is "convinced that Palestinians living abroad will find great value in this new and unique Value Added Service" and added that "the partnership with Wataniya Mobile is a major addition to the TransferTo Global Airtime Remittance Hub, adds great value to its existing proposition and demonstrates TransferTo's commitment to continuously improve its coverage and the service provided to both TransferTo partners and migrant communities worldwide.
With the launch of International Airtime Transfer, Wataniya Mobile "once again demonstrates its commitment to deliver innovative solutions adapted to the very specific needs of its customers leveraging the fact that almost 70% of our population lives abroad and need solutions that facilitates keeping tight links with relatives in affordable and convenient ways" said Motasem Attili , Marketing & Business Development Director at Wataniya Mobile, who added that "TransferTo was key in making this service possible, providing the missing link enabling Wataniya to reach the Palestinian expatriate communities in key countries hosting these communities"
