Canadian Mobile Network Operator WIND Mobile and TRANSFERTO announce launch of Canadas first SMS based International Credit Transfer service.

Canadian Mobile Network Operator WIND Mobile, and TransferTo, the leading provider of international airtime transfer services, announced the launch of Canada's first phone-to-phone International Credit Transfer service.

This value-added service enables WIND Mobile customers to send small amounts of airtime credit in the form of Pay Before Top-ups to their family and friends overseas. International Credit Transfer, while new to Canada, is the globally accepted, low-cost solution for any wireless user seeking a complement to regular money remittances.

Instant, secure, reliable and convenient, this service will enable any WIND Mobile Pay Before customer to remotely recharge the prepaid phones of their loved ones back home in China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, or anyone of 65 other countries serviced by TransferTo's partner carriers.

To perform an International Credit Transfer, Wind customers will text SEND to 888 and then follow the simple step by step menu. The Top-up is performed in real-time; both the sender and the recipient receive a text notification once the transfer is completed.

Scott Campbell, WIND Mobile's Chief Marketing Officer said, "We are thrilled to give our customers exclusive access to TransferTo's International Credit Transfer services in Canada. This is another great example of WIND Mobile challenging the status quo in our market and being the first to offer Canadian consumers world-class wireless innovations. International Credit

Transfer comes on the heels of WIND Mobile's pioneering introduction of domestic prepaid credit transfer, unlimited voice and data plans offering the same rates to post and pre-paid customers along with WIND Mobile's launch of an HD Voice service on its network. With International Credit Transfer, WIND customers will be able to send small amounts of credit to their loved ones whenever they'd like -- on special occasions such as birthdays or religious festivals". Campbell went on to say "TransferTo brings extensive coverage enabling access to over 165 partner operators worldwide in addition to the required expertise and technical solutions necessary to introduce this new product to the Canadian marketplace."

Eric Barbier, CEO at TransferTo said "by launching this service, WIND confirms its commitment to bring innovative services to market and that with the launch of Canada's first SMS based airtime transfer service, WIND has recognized, not only that Airtime Transfer is a globally growing market, but also the needs of its multicultural customers for services going beyond low IDD call rates."
